Aerial and FPV drone coverage of a controlled burn carried out by the Orchardville Fire Protection District on a vacant mobile home.
Controlled burns are a standard training exercise for volunteer fire departments – a structure scheduled for demolition is burned deliberately under supervision so crews can practise on a real fire. Drone footage gives the department something it cannot get from the ground: a full view of the structure, the approach and how the burn develops, all from a safe distance.
This kind of footage has practical value beyond the record itself. Departments use it for training review, for recruitment, and for showing the community what their volunteers actually do.
The video runs 2 minutes 53 seconds and was filmed on site during the burn. MG Drone Tours works with businesses, organizations and public agencies across Southern Illinois. Our pilots are FAA Part 107 certified and we carry $5 million in liability insurance – which matters on any shoot involving fire crews and active operations.
