225 S. Main St. holds down a corner in downtown Clay City, Illinois, and the building is not a standard storefront box. The footprint tapers toward the intersection and ends in a rounded corner carrying a railed balcony on the second floor. It is a wedge, essentially, with no two walls squaring off the way they would in a rectangular shop. That shape is an asset when you are standing in it and a problem in a photo gallery, where stills flatten it and a viewer ends up trying to reassemble the floor plan from a dozen disconnected images.
This indoor drone tour flies the building from the wide-open main floor through to the upstairs space. Nothing interrupts the main floor footprint, so its full depth and the way the corner geometry actually resolves read clearly on video in a way they simply do not in photographs.
Parts of the interior are genuinely tight. Partially open doors, a narrow gap with cabinetry on one side and a door jamb on the other, openings a drone has to thread rather than fly through. That is a move an FPV drone can make and a camera on a gimbal cannot, and it is the reason this tour covers the whole building instead of stopping at the doorways.
The tour also takes in the Main Street frontage and the off-street parking alongside it. Both matter to a commercial tenant, and neither is easy to judge from the sidewalk.
