Excavation and field tiling, filmed from the air
Derksen Tiling and Excavating installs field tile and does excavation work on farm ground in southern Illinois. This outdoor drone tour was filmed to show that work in progress from above.
Tiling is difficult to photograph from the ground. The trench lines, the fall of the land and the pattern of the drainage runs only make sense from height — at ground level you see a machine and a pile of dirt. The aerial footage shows the excavator working the field, the cut lines across the ground, and how the job sits in relation to the rest of the parcel.
For a contractor, that is the useful marketing asset: a landowner deciding who to hire wants to see finished work at real scale, on ground that looks like theirs. Photographs of equipment do not do that. A short aerial pass over a job in progress does.
